To say it is the highlight of our year when this band is here, is an understatement.
Don't let the name fool ya We love them!! The future of World Music has arrived. With a 7 time all Ireland banjo champ, a 4 time banjo champ, and another member who is an all Ireland champ on both fiddle and Bodhran, and with a passionate lead vocalist like a young Springsteen adopted by the Chieftans, the result is truly unforgettable. Geesh real Maine tv stars!!! She currently tours year round with her solo band and continues to perform and curate concerts at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, the home of the Midnight Ramble.
A founding member of the alt country band favorite, Olabelle, she has done two solo albums since. Helm left her home and comfort zone of Woodstock, NY, choosing to record in Los Angeles within the confines of just a four-day window. The musicians were directed not to over think the songs, and Helm herself barely performed any of the selections while leading up to the recording.
As a result, the sessions forced fast musical trust among the collaborators and yielded the vibrant instrumental improvisations heard throughout This Too Shall Light. Blessed with a commanding, deeply expressive voice and an uncanny songwriting skill that instinctively draws upon a deep well of American musical traditions, Amy Helm delivers a timelessly and powerful statement in all her work.

As many band have fallen victim to, the deal ended before it got started; and Noonan regrouped and signed with the Rounder Records label and followed up with three albums as the Carol Noonan Band when she began her long musical relationship with guitarist Duke Levine.

Carol doesn't get to do a show of her own very often, so we her staff, hope you will come out and support her. This is songwriting for the long haul. These songs are sad, yes. But delivered in Carol's voice, they stir and inspire the soul. She's a deeply honest, soul-piercing singer whose latest album is an exalted trip into a minefield of emotions.
